Run by a family of wine makers for three generations, the Cantarutti Alfieri Winery is incredibly proud of its refined autochtonous and international wines produced on the famous hills of Friuli, close to the Slovenian border.

COMPANY INFO

The Cantarutti Estate is located in the heart of Colli Orientali del Friuli, one of the renowned DOC areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The Estate was born in the late sixties. It was Alfieri Cantarutti’s foresight that led him to invest on these hills: the Estate then increased its holdings until the current 54 Ha. The same dedication has been passed on to his daughter Antonella, who runs the Estate with her husband Fabrizio and their son Rodolfo.

PRODUCTS

FRIULANO FRIULI COLLI ORIENTALI

It has a pale yellow with bright reflexes. At the nose it can be perceived its typical aroma, while, in the mouth there is an elegant presence of bitter almond. It closes in a long and pleasant way. It is good as aperitif, but it is excellent with “prosciutto crudo” (San Daniele ham), with delicate pasta and soups and white meats.

RIBOLLA GIALLA FRIULI COLLI ORIENTALI

It has a pale yellow colour with grey reflections. At the nose it is fragrant and floral while it the mouth it is possible to recognise its pleasant and fine acidity which makes of it an unmistakeable wine – among the other wines of Friuli – and gives it an elegant freshness. It is excellent with appetizers and first courses with vegetables but also with fish, best if it is raw

PINOT GRIGIO FRIULI COLLI ORIENTALI

It has a pale yellow colour with pink reflections. At the nose it is deep and it remembers the wild flowers and lime, while in the mouth, it is perceived a wide balance: it closes with elegance in a long way. It is interesting with vegetarian courses, soups, pastas but without hard taste and with delicate meats.

CIARLOT MALVASIA FRIULI

Presenta colore giallo dorato ricco, caldo. Al naso immediate sono le note di pietra focaia, intense percezioni di idrocarburi amalgamate da note di burro di nocciola, fiori di zagara, mentre al palato è ricca, unta ma fluida e persistente dove permangono note pastose ed equilibrate che ricordano la frutta disidratata e agrumata. Vino dalla incredibile lunghezza ed eleganza. È grande il ventaglio di abbinamenti, dal lardo speziato, a primi di pasta ricchi che vedono i formaggi, i funghi ed il tartufo come miglior condimento. Sui secondi non ci sono dubbi: pesci grassi alla piastra e al forno, tagli bianchi di carne e formaggi nazionali e d’oltralpe anche erborinati.

RUBACUORE MERLOT RISERVA FRIULI COLLI ORIENTALI

It has a bright violet ruby red; at the nose the scent of jam is unmistakeable and then it is recognised also in mouth with a pleasant acidity and softness which make of it a stylish and well balanced wine. This wine should be matched with autumn soups and meat but without sauces. We recommend it also with local salami and with cheese.
